This site is an iron age fortification which was
certainly in use well before the accepted King Arthur period of late 5th
Century CE.
As with most other sites, there is no written historical
evidence that this was the site of the Battle of Camlann and the connection
comes from local tradition. There are some other sites in the area with
traditional links to Arthur.
This battle traditionally took place between rival
Celtic leaders and was not against the Saxons and therefore the fact that it
took place at a remote fortification well within the Celtic held territory of
the period may be significant.
There is also a claim that Bardsey Island / Ynys Enlli
off the Lleyn Peninsula on the North Wales coast is Avalon and that both King
Arthur and also Merlin are buried there.

which had the Celtic name of Caer-Legion was an important stronghold in the
